Love Shouldn’t Hurt

Over this past holiday season, Computer Frontiers Inc. gave each staff person $100 to give away those in need. All of the employees where touched by this opportunity to give, as well as the various recipients who received the donation. The heartwarming stories will be shared in hope that those who read and hear of the acts of kindness will be blessed by it too.

Please read below about the organization that Shannon of CFI staff chose to give the money to.

My name is Shannon Baskerville, and it was an honor to uphold the company challenge and donate my gift of $100.00 to Heartly House Inc.  This organization is committed to protecting families against domestic violence. It was a privilege to meet the CEO and staff of Heartly House, and to learn of the various services offered through this organization.

Domestic violence is an emotional and financial challenge on any family and it does not discriminate.  The mental or physical abuse can take the innocence of a child and easily create a cycle of abuse for generations to come. Nonetheless, an organization like the Heartly House is an awesome testament to mankind; not only does it assists families in their current crisis, but it helps to restore them.

As a preteen, my family lived in a center for abused women and benefited from the many services provided. I can look back on our time in a domestic violence shelter and not feel ashamed because my mother was treated with dignity. My siblings and I were provided all the comforts of home and never felt deprived. What a wonderful feeling to visit this organization and be reminded of the quality care my family received.  It has made me a better person and I look forward to volunteering at the Heartly House as homage to the facility in Pennsylvania that served my family many years ago.

Sincerely,
Shannon B.
